Member protection in surf life saving
Avoca Beach Surf Life Saving Club is committed to the protection, welfare and well-being of all members and dedicated to providing a positive and safe environment. We follow the SLSA Member Protection Policy and Child Safe Policy.

All Members at ABSLS have a responsibility to protect each other, particularly children and young people, and to create a child-safety culture that is inclusive and nurturing. The responsibilities of members are set out in the Member Code of Conduct in the Member Protection Policy.
MEMBER PROTECTION TEAM

Our club has a group of volunteers that look after member protection issues:

-
Member protection information officer (MPIO): The MPIO is available to provide information to members that may have an issue. The MPIO is the first point of contact for any members who wants to raise a concern, complaint or provide feedback. To contact the MPIO, contact a member of the ABSLS management team or email office@avocabeachslsc.asn.au
-
Complaints manager: After speaking with the MPIO, formal complaints will be managed by the Complaints manager according to the Complaints Policy.
-
Child Safety Coordinator: Supports ABSLS club management to create a child safe environment. Click here for more on child safety (link to the nippers child safety page).
