Avoca Beach SLSC recently participated in the annual 24 hour row, run by Gotcha for Life.
More than 60 club members turned up to keep the ergs moving over the 24 hour period from 12 noon on Saturday 7/9 until 12 noon Sunday 8/9. It was a great event to start off our season with crews turning up at the club all hours of the day & night. We had 2 machines going the whole 24 hours and we rowed the equivalent from Avoca to Tugun, over 750kms.
We raised over $1,400 for Gotcha for Life, a charity that is helping build more mentally fit communities through preventative mental health campaigns & programs.
A big thanks to Revl Gym Kincumber for the use of the machines to complete the row. Also thanks to everyone who rowed through the 24 hours and those who donated.
The 24 hour row will be back bigger & better in 2025.
