How long have you been a part of ABSLSC?
Mum told me I was doing nippers at Avoca when I was 3! So about 1980
Favourite memory at the club?
So hard to have one. I've loved all the tours, mal comps at Avoca, winning my first Open Aussies gold with Loccos, backing up with Loccos and Riz in the relay and now watching my girls racing and loving it as much as me.
What do you do outside of surf (profession & or study)?
Station Officer at Kariong Fire & Rescue Station
Dream holiday destination?
Ro and I have taken the girls to Cloud Break Fiji and I'd love to go back there. Aussies is always a good tour!
Favourite beach that you have been to a surf carnival at?
Aussies at Kurrawa, State at Mollymook and Worlds at Muriwai NZ.
Favourite discipline?
Ski
What would you still like to improve on?
I'm always practicing my surf skills - it's something you can never truly master, but you can improve.
Favourite thing about the surf lifesaving movement?
I tell my girls and my nipper’s group that everyone at the carnival is the same type of person as you, they just come from a different beach! I have lifelong friends from other clubs and some I only see once a year at Aussies!
What's one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
That continuous and consistent effort is the key to unlocking your potential. Without that effort, your potential will never be realised. celebrate their achievements
