Members are Invited to Join for a Beach Clean-Up with Take 3 for the Sea!

No one spends more time on the beach and in the ocean than surf lifesavers. As swimmers, surfers and lifesavers, we’re the first people to notice rubbish and plastic waste floating in the water and littering the shoreline.
Over 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the ocean each year, and some of that washes up right here in Avoca!
To help keep the ocean clean and healthy, Avoca Beach SLSC has joined the Take 3
for the Sea Surf Lifesaving Program! This initiative empowers SLSCs and their
communities to be part of the solution to litter and plastic pollution, an issue
impacting beaches all around Australia and the world.
Now the season is over and our weekends are freed up, this is our chance to give
back to the beach that we love. Join us for a Beach Clean-Up in partnership with
Take 3 for the Sea on Sunday May 18th, at 9am. Bring your family, friends, and
enthusiasm—every effort counts! Let's make a difference together!

Where: Avoca Beach Surf Club, outside the captain's office
When: Sunday May 18th, at 9am
Gloves and bags provided (but feel free to bring your own if you have them)
No need to sign up in advance, just come along on the day.
About Take 3 for the Sea
Take 3 for the Sea is a global movement that originated right here on the Central Coast and is now known in more than 100 countries. Working as a catalyst for change, Take 3 helps people to see and understand the problem of plastic pollution, inspiring them to simple human-sized actions by unleashing the power of 3:
Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway… or
anywhere
Take 3 actions to reduce your plastic footprint
Take 3 people on the journey with you
Take 3 for the Sea SLSC Program is proudly supported by Norwegian Cruise Line.
